JUVENILE CRIME PREVENTION COUNCIL

WHO WE ARE

The N.C. Department of Public Safety partners with Juvenile Crime Prevention Councils in each county to galvanize community leaders, locally and statewide, to reduce and prevent juvenile crime. JCPC board members are appointed by the county Board of Commissioners and meet monthly in each county. The meetings are open to the public, and all business is considered public information. The Division of Adult Correction and Juvenile Justice allocates approximately $22 million to these councils annually. Funding is used to subsidize local programs and services.

"The price of success is hard work, dedication to the job at hand, and the determination that whether we win or lose, we have applied the best of ourselves to the task at hand."

Vince Lombardi
